Beyond the screen
Three days visiting vertical farms at Wageningen University and around Amsterdam with the Network for Innovation in Agriculture. I went out of curiosity and came back convinced that agriculture has its own industrial revolution ahead.
The trip introduced me to growing as a designed environment. Plants grow in layers, while light, water and temperature become parameters to observe closely.

Light as a design tool
The strongest thread from the visit was light as a way of shaping growing conditions. My working notes return to the observation that the choice of spectrum can affect the shape, height and compactness of plants.
The photographs preserve colours, installations, rows of crops and details. They are a visual record of a place where technology meets something very physical: a plant and its environment.
